12 weeks and counting!

Well I have officially hit the 3rd trimester and my can I say that this pregnancy has been COMPLETELY different than Cauy! I knew it was going to be different by I had no idea that it would be a complete 180-degree turn than last time. Westen is a mover & and shaker and is always on the go! I guess he gets that from his mommy. :)

Progress is being made at the Blevins' household with regard to getting all rooms and things in order. My Mom and Just Bob came over last night and "helped" me put the crib together. They really did all the work, I just kind of "supervised". I do have to say, I really like it much more than the picture from which I picked it out. I am very happy with the purchase and it is going to look great in the room. Now to get the rest of the furniture moved in and decorated and then pictures can be posted!

Cauy is loving his new room too and once I get the nursery done, I can then finish going through all of his toys and books and getting rid of things that will never get played with again or more things taken to storage. I have already gotten 2 boxes packed and stored and it honestly appears to not even put a dent in things. Thus the life of a spoiled Cauy boy! :)

A few facts about Westen to mark the start of my downhill slide toward meeting this little boy:

  • He weighs about 2 1/4 lbs and measures about 14.8 inches
  • He can blink his eyes which now have eye lashes
  • He has already put himself on a schedule, which is not too bad and one that I think we can live with. :)

Time to get back to work! Have a great day!

Wow - has it been that long since I updated?

I can't believe it has been since 2007 since I updated this Blog, but I guess now is as a good as time as ever to get back into the swing of things.

Cauy is now 6 years old! I know...I know...I can't believe it either. It just seems like yesterday he was a little tiny baby boy and now is has graduated Kindergarten and will start the 1st grade on August 13th! Here he is at 4 months old at Mrs. Marti's house and now Graduation Day on May 25th at almost 6 years old. *sniff sniff* They grow up WAY TOO FAST!

Also, Michael and I are happy to say that we are expecting our 2nd child due in September and Cauy cannot be happier to be a big brother!

Westen Matthew Blevins is due to arrive around September 20th and we are all very excited. I can probably say that Cauy is the most excited. He keeps asking me when "his" baby is going to be here. :) He is going to be an awesome big brother!

Here is Westen Matthew's first "official" picture. Look at that sweet button nose! :)

We are in the process of working on the nursery and getting Cauy moved to his new bedroom. The spare bedroom is all cleared out and just needs to be painted and all of Cauy's furniture moved to his new room. Then we can start getting the crib together and everything in order before Westen makes his arrival.

I will do my best to try to post pictures of the progression, but I can't promise anything! :)

My Sweet Child

You have to check these pictures out. The lovely Amy Kelton did an amazing job once again. I cannot wait to see the rest of the ones that were taken. We had them done on July 4th in the Rivermarket and I have to say that I am absolutely blown away and I have only seen three of the pictures. She will have the rest of them loaded by Friday and I will post those as well. Stay tuned.....

New Addition

Well, I can officially say that my child is spoiled!!! He has a thing for the Arkansas River and complains when he cannot see it from my car, so I decided instead of having to listen to him complain every time we went over 430 that he could not see the river, that I would just get a bigger vehicle. So I traded in my Malibu for this! I am super excited and I am enjoying it very much. It is used but still in great condition. Cauy loves it too and has not complained one time about not being able to see the river.

LIFE HAS BEEN SO BUSY!

Wow, it has been a long time since I blogged and I really don't have much time now, but I did want to share a few pictures of my sweet baby boy. Although he is not a baby anymore. He turned 3 on June 2nd. Can you believe it??? I know, me neither!!!

Blevins Happenings.....

Long time, no blog. Things have been a little busy around our house, but those that know us would never expect anything different. Cauy is doing well, although he has been having some breathing problems. He has been diagnosed with RAD (Reactive Airway Disease) and we will just monitor his breathing and pray that he grows out of it.

Michael and I started our Spring semester last week and so far, things are pretty easy. At least I think they are. I have a pretty easy load this time around but that won't be the case in the Fall.

Here are a few new pics of the Cauy boy. Enjoy!

Fall Fun!

I had a little extra time this weekend, so I decided to get all the leaves out of the yard again. We have a huge oak tree in the front yard and it only takes a few days and the yard, house and driveway is covered. It turned out to be a very nice day, so after naptime, Cauy came out and "helped" me. Notice the football attached to his hip. That thing never leaves his side.

My Little Spider-Man

I know this is really late, but I just now got it off the camera. This was taken at school on Halloween.

Cauy in his Spidey-glasses:

He had a good time and really enjoyed shooting his web at everyone.

NLR Mayor is at it again!

This just in:

NLR Mayor Patrick Hayes has told the officers & fire that their budget for 20007 is $0 because they opposed the ballpark and other projects the Mayor has his eyes on. The officers and fires money for equipments sits in the General Fund account and the money is disbursed. Well this year, he says NO. So looks like the officers and fire will not get new vehicles, trucks, radios, guns, pepper spray, handcuffs and anything else that falls into this category. How are they supposed to fight the crime? I guess the ballpark, tug boat and Big Dam Bridge will take care of all that for the city. PLEASE HELP THE OFFICERS FIGHT THIS!!! They need all the help they can get. He has also cut 20 vacant positions in the department. They are already short as it is and now he wants to cut those positions from ever being filled. NLR is looking at a ratio of about 1:1000 (1 officer per 1000 citizens). Michael has already had to fight for his life in the past week and it is only going to get worse. He has cut the positions due to financial reasons. No kidding! He gets what he wants, but no one else does. Someone tried to break into our vehicle with the patrol car in the driveway. The criminals know that the officers cannot do anything because they are all alone. Write a letter to the Mayor. Help us fight this and get the word out.

Mother of the Year Award

My poor sweet baby. I am sure that he is going to go to school and tell them that I did it. He has already mentioned to me this morning that "Mommy did it". I was out and about last night and he stayed home with Michael. I got home and he was at the door waiting on me and was holding it open for me telling me to come in. Well, I went to grab the door and his hand slipped down the glass (full glass storm door) and I could not catch him. It is my fault for grabbing the door before he got back. It swelled instantly and Michael put a frozen bag of peas on it to help with the sweelling and I gave him some Motrin. It is amazing how resilant these little suckers are. He was up running around within minutes of it. I felt horrible, but as someone told me, this will not be the last time that I have a kid that looks like I beat the snot out of them.

A few recent shots

I thought I would share a few pics. I have been pretty busy lately, so I don't have much time to update.

Cauy is growing like a week. He is talking our ears off and is too smart for his own good. I took these last night. He was showing off and yelling "Ta Da".

Bush Getting Owned

Wow, I am glad that someone finally said it.
